The Preventive Measures Foundation's Inaugural Awards Gala, 'Unlocking Hope: Removing the Mask of Mental Health Stigma,' was a dazzling affair for a great cause, raising more than $40,000 for scholarships. Hosted by the gracious Maureen Umeh, FOX 5 DC Anchor, our inaugural awards gala honored individuals who have made outstanding contributions to health and wellness. Among the distinguished awardees were Dr. Kurt D. Newman, celebrated with the Circle of Excellence Award; Dr. Hassan Batts, who received the Community Impact Award; The Honorable Stacy E. Plaskett, U.S. House of Representatives, honored with the Courage Award; Dr. Laquandra Nesbitt, recognized with the Pandemic Warrior Award; and the youthful Addison Rose, who was bestowed the Youth Courage Advocate Award.
